My partner surprised me with tickets for “The bar at Buena Vista Social Club” with the Grandfathers of Cuban Music. So we went yesterday to Maag Halle in Zurich to the concert.
Needless to say it was an amazing show. Why? Because the youngest singer must be about 65 and the oldest is 94 years old. They sang and danced like only Latin-Americans can do: Full of Passion!I would like to talk about the 94 years old guy, Reynaldo Creagh
He survived all his compadres from Buena Vista Social Club and is one of a kind artist. He showed up and we received him with a standing ovation.
He sang “Dos gardenias para ti” (Two gardenias for you). I cried while he was performing. He still has an excellent vocal technique; he can dance and play with the audience and last but not least, he has what a great artist has: this pinch of salt that distinguish the best from the average.
Unfortunately, this was his last performance in Europe due to his age. He was asked about how he feels about age and his career. He just gave a direct answer while smoking his Cuban cigar: I FEEL THAT THIS HAS JUST BEGUN.
With his amazing response I like to wish you a wonderful week and remember that no matter what let’s feel like this has just begun!!
See you soon!!
